Re: The Unit
Liked it. At least they tried to put in some realistic elements here and there. Still waiting for a reality mod for that show...

Re: The Unit
I like it. Sure it's unrealistic but its better than most of the crap on TV. The book its based on is fantastic though, a really great read.

Re: The Unit
Good producers (David Mamet and Eric Haney) and decent cast, but could use better writers for many of the episodes. The "war-at-home" drama with their families could really be downplayed, though. That having been said, it is tons better than that POS E-Ring, and infinitely better than JAG and NCIS (the organization that JAG should have been about in the first place if they wanted to play detective).
If you want to see some very good collaboration by Mamet and Haney, check out Spartan. |

Re: The Unit
The at home stuff is 'real' in that it does happen. It just doesn't happen to the same people every...single...day. They take true stories from around the army and make it apply to just 3-4 people, same with the guys in the show.

Re: The Unit
I watch it. It might be a little unrealistic and sloppy at times but hell, this is television and we don't get that many great shows. The whole bit with the wives is kind of like a punishment for enjoying the action sequences and I hope it gets toned down even more next season. If there is ever a better special forces show to watch, tell me. Generation Kill could not last forever, Burn Notice only comes out once a week and Flashpoint is even sloppier than The Unit.

Re: The Unit
I used to watch it the morning before going to school, but it was mostly reruns of the same episodes over and over then they deleted the show.
I thought it was pretty good. |

Re: The Unit
It's really not a bad show. Put aside the obvious inaccuracies like the total failure of opsec and it's pretty good. Also do NOT pay attention to the f'd up tactical operations and procedures in a lot of the scenes, lol. entertaining.
