need serious advice, should i join airforce?

Due to a series of unfortunate events i think im forced into joining the airforce. They will help me pay off 10 grand in college loans and im hoping to get out of their community college with a engineering degree. But i want to know if somebody here is from the airforce and can tell me their experience instead. I dont want to make a terrible mistake here.

i am going to do that today, but i want somebody else's experience to say something, asking the recruiter will give me biased information i think.

It depends on what you will be doing. The military is not a job, but an organization and there are good and crappy jobs in any.

oh no i dont want to stay in the military, i want to get in the airforce academy and get a degree from them, after that i pursue a job on my own.

I am in the AF Reserve right now and I love it. It kind of sounds to me like this may not be your best option, or that you may not be doing it for the right reasons. I would definitely talk to a recruiter and also a few people in the service and ask a bunch of questions. If it still sounds like something you want to do then go for it. Joining the military is kind of a big deal, so I would be sure and think it through.

You won't get into the AFA, trust me. And even if you did you would be obligated to serve at least 4 years, so you won't be doing your own job.

Why do you think they offer money? It's not for you to just have and advance your career, it's an incentive to serve.

You need to get a real job, and pay off your loans.

I had a teacher who was in the Air Force, and my sister was in the Air Force(during the Iraq war) for a while too. The overall feeling i get from talking to them is that compared to other forces the Air Force is the easiest and most dull. If you pursue the things you want(college or w.e) while doing your job i'd say you should be ok. Your experience may vary depending on your job though. My sister was a medical clerk thingy(not sure) and she worked in the medical offices doing w/e, she was a Sgt. My teacher on the other hand was in communications and was attached to an Army unit on the field, much to his dismay

Best you can do is research exactly what it is you want and make sure that it is possible to get what you want(college money or w/e) and then take that course.
