This show looks really good i cant wait to watch it.

Generation Kill is based on Evan Wrights non-fiction book of the same name, which he researched as an embedded journalist in Iraq for a series of articles in Rolling Stone that eventually turned into the book. The story focuses on the early missions of the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, and the challenges they faced, leading to confrontations between the Marines and the military bureaucracy. The book also looks at the differences between today's military personal and those from earlier generations, with the young soldiers today having grown up with videogames and the internet.

TBH, most movie/TV series are so off from the book its based upon you dont need to read it. If you do want some background read:

A show was before called Over There.

anyways, I just don't like the name..it infeers that American(and other) soldiers KILL. They don't kill people, they eliminate Insurgents in Iraq, and Muslim extremist terrorists in Afghanistan(thats right, i know how to spell it).

But of cousre this show is probably some Hollywood anti-war, anti-American BS where the soldiers are all evil and torture prisioners like in the Iraqi prision, and they all flush Koran's and shoot women, children and innocent men on purpose.

Hollywood...........I say we protest hollywood and let them know that we aren't idiots who want to police the world and all love guns and hate gas saving cars.

We Americans don't all love guns, most people are scrambeling for hybrids or atleast gas savers(in California 6 month waiting list for a hybrid) and nobody wants to police the world!!! We will police the world when the gas runs out in 40-50 years...until then we aren't policing anything but pirated movies and pur borders(normal crime included).

Over There is not the same thing as Generation Kill. Plus a thread about this was already made. Looking forward to the scenes with Encino Man, Captain America, and Casey Kasim.

thats the opposite of what the show is about if you bothered to watch any videos on it or Evan read about it you would learn that its about a writer how embeds with 1st recon. at the be gaining of this war, he was manly there to see how soldiers were like in war with the influences of the Internet and video games, and so on but before you start to talk shit on it you should learn more about something before you do.
