Looks like a first rate game! (get it? first rate?!!lololol)

anyways, graphics look awesome, time period is awsome, new features (sea battles etc) look awesome.

as long as they have worked past their previous failings such as their multiplayer interface, pathfinding and most importantly their firearms company AI it shall pwn every RTS in sight.

I'm stocking up on food rations, cuz when this comes out (feb 2009) i aint goin outside for a whiie...

Looks pretty cool. I have Medieval 2 Total War but I got bored with it sort of fast. The graphics and large number of troops were epic, but it was just sooo incredibly boring using the same old bait and flank tactics. I don't know if this will be any different.

I think the only piece of popular media that actually portrayed warfare at this time satisfactorily is Last of the Mohicans (1992)

The books were great but I found the Sharpe TV series severely wanting

Have they fixed the campaign map?

I love the battles in RTW and M2TW but the campaign map is horrible. Once your empire gets bug at all it is very time consuming to track down where all your armies are and move them. After a few battles you forget who you moved and have to click each one again. I stopped using agents almost entirely because that means so many guys you need to remember where they are. I hope Empires has a unit cycle system like Civilization type games have.
