Windows Vista 64bit vs Windows XP

Upgrading to new computer, I am wondering what the general consensus is about Windows Vista at the moment. I know in the beginning there many complaints and problems with Vista but I have heard alot better as time goes on. The computer I'm getting will be able to handle it fine, I am just hoping that it will work with most games at the moment (especially PR).

Otherwise, I will just stick to Windows XP which I already have.

Go for Vista. I use it, and if you're buying a computer now anyway, you won't have old hardware. Vista is great, except for some supporting some oldie hardware.

also got vista 64bit here. Use it to make ur PC future proof.
I haz 4GB RAM now. And in terms of speed i dont see a difference between vista 64 and xp 32.
So go with Vista.

3.12gb is the limit for 32bit Vista, 64bit goes to 128gb if you have vista ultimate, 8gb for 64bit home.

Wait, 128 GB of RAM?
That's like my whole hard drive...

I am very happy with my Vista 64, and the very rare times I have come across a program that is not Vista64 ready, it is easy to find a different one that is (I play with a ton of different programs).
I was happy with it enough that I went last weekend and bought a new laptop at bestbuy with Vista64 already installed for my wife.
