well that would be the main reason. Nothing wrong with spaghetti and meantballs, it's pretty healthy and damn good. This obviously if you make it properly. Now take one of those canned ones and it's going to have a huge amount of some random stuff in it (not too healthy I'd assume) and it tastes like s**t. I bet you could just go and chew your cars tire and you wouldn't notice any difference. This is the truth and it applies for pretty much every food.

If you can't be arsed to make proper food then get stuff that has been frozen. While obviously not as good as 'real food' it's still a lot better than canned food. (imo)

As for what do I eat? Well pretty much everything. Today was rice with chicken sauce thingy (even had mushroom that my mom picked up in it ) and yesterday I ate spaghetti with minced meat sauce, a hamburger (and believe it or not, one that I made myself. 5x better than McDonalds stuff) and some sausage. But a lot of the time during the week it's something a lot more simple like french fries and sausage. (french fries are frozen stuff) Just throw them into the oven and food will be ready in 15mins which is perfect for a lazy guy like me.

Yeah... spaghetti and meatballs may be italian, but canned spaghetti and meatballs really do "sound like something an American would eat." Likewise with noodles/instant noodles.
Other variations of the Englishman's diet include, scones with home-made jam, the rasperries/strawberries comming from your own private farm/field, as England is so pastoral and small, resulting in us all knowing the Queen.
Your farm is generally located in a place that ends with Shire
or Borough. Most people residing here either speak the queen's pefect english (much like ALL the badguys in starwars) or in a cockney accent (Oliver twist's artful dodger).

The Scottish are not real, they are just a myth; the Irish refrain from leaving Ireland, as they cannot survive an enviroment where the amount of pubs is not proportinate to the ammount of people; there is a common misconception about the Welsh, as they are not obsessed with intercourse with sheep. The sheep and the Welsh are actually the one and same thing.

A heads up for Americans traveling too Britian

Canned food will always be a bit "meh" by its conditioning. But Frozen food can be pretty darn good as well as healthy.
