this or asking one of your friends (if they know how to) build one for you. Both options should be as easy as "I have £xxx to spend and I need a pc for gaming." They will be able to pick what you need.

can you recommend any other brands? If something does go wrong i want to be able to moan at someone and get a response not some smaller company that might go broke. My friend said zepto were ok but never heard of them before.

(tech shops near me advertise 512 ram as the way to go, not the most honest places)

PS. It is intended for gaming, I cant be bothered with watching films and stuff on pc. I will also be using it with 3ds and gmax and probably auto cad soon.
You can get XP everywhere still, performance wise Vista even at SP1 doesn't come close.

My parting advice from someone who has used Dell for far too long professionally and privately, DO NOT GET DELL.

Buy a build from the small computer shop down the road. Seriously. Because if you are not confident enough to build it yourself (there really is no excuse for this bar laziness) then the local small computer shop will build the thing the same way Dell would ... except cheaper, with common non-brand-locked parts and with support just down the road rather than in an Indian call centre.

Do you need a monitor in that?

you might want to check out Zoostorm branded full builds, they come in nice and cheap compared to some of the bigger names, plus they are a UK company.

You can buy them from various online stores, heres one with a list of their builds :

ideally i would like a new monitor, bigger then 19 inch.

there is a computer shop down the road from me but let me put it this way, i dont live in exactly the best of areas, and where that shops located those shops tend to go bust pretty quick, I wouldnt mind going to an independent tech-shop its just that they are really rare where i live because PC World has like a 99% of the new computer monopoly in england and they are crappier then dell by far.

You could build the same computer you listed with the kind of value rated parts dell is going to use for half the price you listed them as charging.
If you are really unwilling to build yourself, don't you have any friends that could do it for you? Hell, if I lived near you I would do it for free. It is that easy and is actually kind of fun. I built my 1st fully new rig in OCT and it only took about a hour.
And they are right above about the GFX card, right now the 9600GT is the best bang for buck card there is.

My advice to you - buy parts and build it yourself, if you give me a website & budge I can make a list for you.
