What's the most realistic combat fps you've played
This game is the second most realistic game I've played next to firearms. Now that I'm very into prrm I'd like to try out other games that are at least on par in realism. I know america's army is pretty good(but the training turned me off) but what are other games that you guys could recomend for me. Thanks for you posts in advance.

Operation Flashpoint by far. Its old now however (hoping for OFP: Armed Assault to release soon). Terrain was very simplistic compared to BF2, but you had an entire real-size island to play on. Tanks engaged each other at realistic ranges, helos could fly for 10 minutes to the target. Rifles had nearly spot on accuracy and where completely useless on the run. The coolest part was the mission based COOP mode. I always found real multiplayer to be less fun, lol. It even had a better squad system than BF2 has, where you literally select units under your command and order them to a position. With scripting you could extend it and control a dozen AI squads which controlled their own men, heh. It was nice sending 100+ men into battle

I would also have to say AA. I realy liked the pre-patch sniping in Joint Operations though. The fact you had to range targets and adjust your scope range is a very realistic idea and I loved the true 400m shots.

The only realistic thing I liked was that the .50 cal machineguns felt really really beefy, but that was more a feeling than anything else, lol. | |

Excelent point, and I agree, Two teams of all snipers is not very fun at all. The other thing I REALY liked about that game was the ability to swim under water. I loved swimming up a river and inserting on a flag by crawling up on the beach and low crawling up to it..

Americas Army, Operation Flashpoint, and of course Project Reality.
