How does your countries health care compare to the US?

In my opinion the system in my country is good. Free healthcare ftw! Doesn't matter who you are or how rich you are, if you need treatment you will get it.

And some of you say 'why should I pay for other peoples healtcare, I'm never sick" etc.
Well let me answer. It's the best way to do it. Everyone pays a little which means that at all times every single person can get help. It's the same with a lot of other things. I've never been robbed or anything similar, yet I still prefer to pay a bit more tax and know that if I need help I can call the police. I've never set my house on fire, yet I still happily pay a lot of tax just so that I know that if for some reason there is a fire in my house those friendly firemen will come to save my family and put out the fire. The thing is that we need other people, alone we can't really survive. And as long as things are done this way everyone will be equal. Doesn't matter if we talk about healthcare, police, school or any other government funded things, as long as tax money is paying then everyone will be equal.

Here in the UK, its pretty much free, except for the taxation, of course.
If you got the Gs, you can go private for better quality healthcare.
People seem to be constantly complaining about the NHS's bad service, but it seems ok to me.

thats just communism. it has been proven time and time again that communism simply does not work. Governments can be a great tool for good, but small governments are much better imho.

providing and taking care of the basic needs of its people.

I think what people like seth and I think is that in our perfect nation we would not be dependent on the government.


The thing is, in your government, it gives you a "Hand out" while in our we prefer a "Hand Up". We prefer helping you find work instead of paying you if you dont have a job. We will give you grants for college but its up to you to take them and use them.


While our nations are culturally similar, there are a few differences, and for that reason we run our nation differently than others.

One of those is size. Our nation is obviously much larger than norway so governing the population was split into 50 sections and each of those has a different way of governing. In my state we have a small government mind set, and believe it or not, in my nation i get state health care not national healthcare. While in other states like mississippi the people there are behind about 9 years to the rest of us.


However like i said, i do think the healthcare that they give in my nation is nice.

Just to add it in, in my state it is required that if your life is endanger the hospital/clinic has to treat you. However if you lack health care, they will always bill you.

No, but elements of communism (or socialism) certainly work. Nearly every prosperous economy on the planet uses a mixed-market system.

So you can save money from not paying tax's? The only reason why Americans do not support our style is because they don't want to pay high tax's.

While you may save a lot of money, which you can use to buy a nice house, or a cool car but you are also messing up Americans who can't afford Insurance, or Medical Bills. That is not what the Health System should be about. It should be about helping everybody, not getting rich while everybody else suffers.

Do you know how many Americans who can't afford your health care system come into Canada to use ours? Just like you guys say Mexicans use yours.

I use to see constant articles on it a long time ago. They had friends or family in Canada, who they used to take a little 'trip' to Canada so they can afford to get treated. Basicly we aren't only paying for Canadian health care, we are paying for American as well.

Let me ask you, have you ever needed a major surgery before or anything that would cost a ****load of money? Be honest as well.

My Cousin had Cancer when he was 10, Even with our Health Care System. They still had troubles paying for it, they could pay for it but they just had troubles. He was lucky he was living in Canada, with our health care system as they would never have been able to afford health care in America. Kemo treatment, or whatever they are called are really expensive. He had limphoma or however its spelled.

Also doesn't people who drink, smoke, and do drugs deserve health care as well? They are after-all human beings.

Yes, you are right that one of the principles of communism is to share. Doesn't mean that what I said is communism.. far from it. Is america a communist country? I mean, you guys pay for things from tax... like and police.. school system (to some extent)...military too. DAMN COMMIES!

The thing is.. that everything can't be switched to the private sector. Today you probably drove a car. You probably drove it on a road? Yes, now who payed for that road? Government or a private company? See what I mean? You WILL NOT survive without other people, no matter how much you americans love yourself you need to realize that.

Like I said, the only real way for people to be equal is to pay these kinds of things from tax. If you don't then the rich ones will ALWAYS be above the poor ones.
