Not worth the extra cash to reduce my TKing ability. I'll just continue to grind my silly teammates under my wheels when they disembark and run in front of me when I try to leave quickly!

Exactly.

1. Buy ArmA
2. Download some addons
3. Save tons of money
4. ????
5. PROFIT!

There's no reason to buy any VBS if you're a run-of-the-mill civilian. If you do, you wont have hardly anyone to play online with and the SP will still be remarkably like the cheaper ArmA...

In Japan until July 2009, read the blog!

VBS2 is being sold to military of some nations, mostly canada and france, as a learning tool for their troops.

Anyone who buys this to play it as if it was a game, is a complete muppet. Gaming is not its purpose at all.

ArmA is worth it, yes. It's only like £20 anyway.

Actually the main clients are the Australians and the USMC. Also, the British MoD use it as well as the US Army, IIRC.

Re: Virtual Battlestation 2-Worth the money?

I wish PR mod had real-life maps based on satellite images like VBS.

Also, I agree with what HumAnimAlien51 said:

"If this simulation game is so expensive, I have my doubts about the size of the on-line community. Even if it is primarily meant to be a military trainer, the people selling it are alienating a big chunk of the market IMHO. I agree w/. magicstorm & Coldkilla9. The relatively poor effects detract from the graphics. And I don't see what the problem is in including the same stuff in ArmA/ Flashpoint 1 or 2. That alone, aside from the effects, would sell a lot more copies of ArmA & OFP."

IMO wait for ArmA 2 if your THAT worried, uses a lot of the same things...plus its about $1410 cheaper (uber rought guess on ArmA2 costing $90).

And ArmA 1 is cheap as chips now...I bought it and don't have any regrets

Also with patch 1.14 Arma is quite awesome, together with low price= good way to spend some euros/bucks. The only thing im not to sure about is the addon, i still didnt buy it - but if you can get a gold version without too much price difference i'd recommend it.
