The radio DJ is one of the biggest cocks I have ever heard. He is happy to condemn other beliefs, but I doubt he'll do it to his own. All of them are guilty of this through many periods in history.

The Muslim issue highlights the problem of all religion, that corrupted people will influence others through religion for their own intents and purposes.

It is also important to reason between the religion and the individual. Obviously, the DJ wants to make a scapegoat rather than deal with the real issue.

(This is coming from a firm atheist who believes all religion is evil)

He has a point indeed. When Muslims do disgusting things in the name of Islam the majority of Muslims, who are peaceful, do nothing but when that silly cartoon was published they did freak out. I didn't see any protests in my town, state, nor do I remember mass protests and riots in the US. Maybe there were some? It would seem that the people who freak out are not the most well to do people in well to do places or are themselves somewhat irrational and radical. Sure the peaceful ones don't condemn the actions of others in huge loud protests, but so what, the fact remains that people distort holy texts to justify violence.

Christians, Muslims, Jews; they've all done shitty things in their name of their religion, okay? And none of them were ever massively keen to speak out and go "Hey, maybe we shouldn't be burning these guys alive" or "Y'know what, these guys are basically pretty similar to us, let's stop hacking them to bits" or even "Whoa, now I come to think about it, stealing an apple isn't that big a deal after all".
