ArmA: can someone help?

okay i just saw this game called ArmA never heard of it i was just wondering what other people thought of it or what they knew about it if its good or bad it looked intresting to me just want to know what u guys think

I think he wants a review. Arma is a very good game, a little slow paced for most and if u run it on a low res its terrible. But it is innovative and highly skilled.

ArmA 2 is coming out this year i believe, but they are being quiet about that, looks like souped up graphics and improved features.

ArmA is good, if you have a beta test fetish.

It was brought out to pay for ArmA 2's development but is still the best game for realistic infantry play. Aircraft and tanks are in the game but are as realistic as they are in BF2, which means not very realistic at all.

So yes, it is fab, as long as you play with your mates, in a platoon or section with the most powerfull vehicles being a Bulldog or WMIK.

I bought, now wish I didn't. Game has got a lot of potential but few of it is used.
I didn't play the single player that much but some of the missions were kind of lame.
In terms of multiplayer...its nothing like PR. There are barely, if any, servers where it's actually humans vs humans. Most of the servers are Co-op. Meaning all humans are on one side, fighting vs AI bots, and there's not much challenge. To make matters worse, you can't join the server and hop into a Cobra helicopter. You have to raise ranks first, kill a bunch of infantry, do objectives, then you can drive humvee, kill more, then you can drive some armor/ fly non-armed helicopters. Only at the end of the rank system do you get to use tanks and attack choppers and planes...every time the map restarts, you lose all your progress. Oh, and there's only one map.

There's also a multiplayer mode called Sahrani Life, where it's kind of like cops vs robbers. It's pretty fun but plagued by idiots.

I'd say get this game if you know a bunch of people you can have organized play with, like if you're in a clan. If youre just a casual gamer, I'd say save your money.

I don't have x-fire I dont like having something run in the background continuously xD
for the sake of getting my money's worth from AA, i'll install it lol.

I was/am on the fence about buying ArmA. I played the demo and it was kinda boring. I am sure if you find a good group of people to play with, then it is fun. I wish I could find it instores and also wish that it isn't $45...

I'll see how that Iraq mod turns out, and how ArmA 2 stands if that ever comes out.
