windows 98, no sound

i didnt know where to post this, so i post it here:
i installed wondows 98 on an old pc. everything works except the sound.
i got creative soundblaster PCI 128 soundcard and the right driver for it. but i cant here any sounds :/
can you help me?

Look in device manager (not sure if 98 has one) and find the sound card and see if it has any flags on it. If it does, the device wasn't insalled properly (drivers), if not check the sound control panel and check the volumes and if anything is on mute.

ah, now it works. we had a damaged driver or something
