RGG ArmA –new server/new game modes

We have our own server again woot!

It’s currently running Sharani Life v1.12 on veteran mode, using AmrA v1.08
Just put “RGG” into the filter to find us.

There’s no password.

The server is running the ATOW mod, and although you don’t need this installed to connect I strongly recommend you give it a go. It’s the mod we use for the awesome Player Vs Player “A Theatre of War” tournament, and it includes lots of great stuff that improves both realism and game play, like the FDF sounds. Check out ArmA: Theatre of War and go to the download section to get the latest version. The best part of this mod for me is the more drawn back view of the sights, because it allows you to walk forward or take a position looking down your gun without having your vision totally obscured by sights.

The ATOW tournament is excellent (despite this being the first campaign), with large scale battles and destructible forward spawn points and a sequential flag capping system. It’s not perfect, for example they still want to display death messages for the giggles, but they’re open to change and the vote was very tight on this point. So if we got more PR type players in we could easily get that changed imo

RGG are also trialling a PvP mission style which is a blatant rip off of PR’s AAS 1, with excellent results so far. We’ll be playing that with our team every Thursday 2000 GMT, and you noobs are welcome to come along and get pwned

BTW in case any Devs are reading this: we would LOVE for you guys to create at least some form of mini PR mod for ArmA because the game is crying out for some decent PvP multiplayer action! Finch is doing his pitiful best to replicate simple parts of the gamplay, but as you may know he is a gargantuan noob

However, even with just the basics down it still provided good gameplay, far exceeding that of the normal ArmA public play imo.

Outlawz, who cares if you get 16 FPS? It's ArmA, you don't need to be all quick and 1337, so long as you read the terrain well and practice good tactics.
