dunkellic needs your help! (if you happen to be a skilled english native-speaker)
hey everyone.
i´m currently in my last year of school - going to do my a-levels in several months. part of the last year of school in germany is a thing called "facharbeit", which is compulsory. a facharbeit is basically a small dissertation i´ll have to write in one of my two advanced courses/classes (or intense course). it is not really a dissertation, but lets say it is a paper with very high standarts. for example, i´ve got to cite every source i use and except common knowledge i have to back-up every statement with a source. my two advanced courses are english and arts, but with my arts teacher being a lazy giveacrap, i have to write mine in english (what i would have done probably anyway...). we had to chose a topic in compliance with our teacher, so there is definetely a strong limitations concering the topics. i was able to convince my teacher that i would write about "the military industrial complex in the united states". that was back some time in 2007...so yeah i basically had a year of time to do it...but that well...i´ve started like three days ago... currently i´ve got about 17 pages (type size 11) but i guess that i will wind up with ten more. what i´m exactly asking is this: due to me being one of the laziest persons on this planet, i´m quite late with this paper, i´ve got to hand it to my teacher next friday and still have a shitload of work to do. now seeing as there is/was enough time, most teachers are quite picky if it comes to orthography and grammar. my plan is, to stay at home the next monday and tuesday, so that i can finish before friday and hand the paper to a private lessons school so they can spell- and grammarcheck the paper. but seing as how every gymnasium in my area(type of school) has the deadline at the same time, it might be possible, that those eager beavers and suck-ups that finished months ago (...should have done that too...) and those that are as late as i am, might have the same idea, resulting in those private lessons schools being all swamped and not able to return me the paper in time (lets hope not). so basically i´m searching for any volunteer that would be willing to spellcheck my paper and see wether i made any grammatical errors. i fear that except my very thanks and perhaps a good and interesting read i cant offer anything as compensation. furthermore, i would have to ask not to publicly post anything of the paper within the next two weeks, as i dont want my teacher to think that i pasted the paper together from stuff found on the internets. if you want to volunteer i would ask you to either be a very good second-tongue english speaker, or even better, a good mother-tongue english speaker. as i already pointed out, the topic of the paper is "the military industrial complex within the united states". a small problem that i encountered during writing is, that some sources are obviously biased, but i can assure you, that though the paper is indeed critical, i tried and try to stay as objective as possible. what i do not wish, is a discussion or proposal concering the contents - only spell and grammarchecking. in case someone is willing to do this, i´ll warn you ^^: it is quite a piece of work with over 20 pages - but of course if someone agrees and doesnt find the time to do or finish it, there wont be any consequences. anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this, i´m looking forward to the replies ^__^ PS: the request does not apply to this post, you dont need to point out any errors within this post |

I'll help you out bro. Give it a send.
I took all AP and IB HL courses in high school (like the Dutch gymnasium level-- not sure how it works in Germany), including AP English Literature, where I received a score of "5", the highest score possible. I know my grammar very well, and frequently check friend's essays for them. Of course I won't change content, but if you like I can edit the form of your writing to give it more elegance and efficiency and reduce wordiness. |

I'm not back to school myself for another 8 days, I can always have a look at it if Wasteleand is pressed for time. I'm only reading textbooks/literature novels ahead of then (and tidying my place up and painting a few rooms
ps. I've got A levels, and A level equivalents in English Language and Literature and currently doing a joint honours degree in English Language and Linguistics/Literature |
