Love and Hurt (What about you?)

Why do us humans bother with trying to be in an emotional relationship with "love" with who-ever you are attracted to, whether you be a male to female, or male to male, or female to male, or female to female or others. Mostly you get more hurt than what you get back with love/enjoyment.

It's just so rare to have a "match"... what mostly only keeps people together is the 'need' for something, or not wanting to be lonely... and at first sight it's always lust and/or mixed emotions that you wish you could be "in love" with them in the future.

I just wondered what people think about this, or what most people in this community have/do, whether they found a "match", or gave up looking, or whether there are people who never want such things here...

Also, wondering what people do to get over hurt of loss of a lover due to them hurting you so much you just have to leave. (Whether you just play games or what? Or what have you done in the past)

Maybe its a bit of a "soppy" post to do here on this type of forum but... i think there could be good discussion here due to very different types of people and people who could be similar to me and have experienced all this.

We chase love because we're stupid. We're rats with our hands on the pleasure button, working the electrode in our brains for all we're worth. We know it's killing us, and we keep going back. Love as a drug is among the most tired cliches in existence, but it's actually very true.

As for selecting a mate, I understand it's a very simple task of measuring a certain body part, determining grief/inch, and then comparing this figure to that of a prostitute, where grief is replace by money. You just need to decide what amount of grief is worth what amount of money.

Why do I love and eat Cheese when I know after I’ve finished eating its gone? Because humans are weak in their true nature and they crave such emotional attention as “love” to get them through life. For some even if that feeling lasts for a second it’s definitely worth it and will have a longer lasting affect on their personality and cognitions than might be perceived.
