Sorry, but I'll decide when the country I live in has gone to hell... right now I'd say we're not doing bad.

I feel safe thank you very much, if I get stabbed or shot tomorrow, then its still not gone to hell, I was just unlucky. You can't walk the streets anywhere without that risk.

Good luck, leave while you can.
I'll stay, I can't think of anywhere better at the moment.

This advice conveniently comes almost 2 months after the same government banned anyone under 18 from buying toy guns, and anyone who doesn't have what is considered to be a specialised interest, such as reenactors or airsofters, from buying realistic toy guns.

A fine example to joined up thinking there.
Hah, yeah, I wouldn't trust a Government to make sense Bob

Talking

The gods know I don't want to agree with the English, let alone the British, and I really don't know what a citizen of the UK is actually made of......but................ ?

The crime rates you are quoting ?

....are they nationwide or particular to certain portions of certain urban areas ?

Because, as I have mentioned before, as loath as I am to even be perceived as to have come to the defense of anyone who lives overseas; stats can be made to seem far more menacing than they really are.

I really do think firearms should be strictly limited, largely on a merit/skill basis as this is much easier to determine than mental and more likely to result in a reduced amount of collateral casualties ( ie: redecks don't miss ), but perhaps the UK has reached a little too far too soon in the firearms control issue ?
