Paranoia Hl1 Mod

I just finished it, it is really fun. You are a Major in the Alfa Spetznaz brigade, and are you and your boys are called in when an industrial plant is attacked. As you pursue the terrorists deeper inside the facility, you notice that not everything is as it seems....

Idk how many of you guys have half-life still, but this is worth reinstalling it for. It took me maybe 5 hours or so on medium, but it is incredibly well made and has an excellent atmosphere. They have heavily modified the HL1 engine, allowing for bump mapping and dynmaic lighting and stuff, its pretty cool. Just be warned, you may get VAC warnings if you try to play HL1 online from the modified opengl32.dll file, if you, just rename it.

For you realism goons, the "iron sights" are just the weapon centers itself, zooms in, and the crosshair gets smaller, but you squad mates have a pretty good AI, most of the time. If you like STALKER, you probably will like this.

Just be sure to install th English subtitles, as it is a Russian mod.

Damn it looks pretty damn good for a HL1 game. I mean the graphics aren't amazing, but still pretty good for a 9 yearold game.

It's pretty good. The guns need fixing though - too inaccurate, too weak. It takes entire mags to kill enemies (by which time you're dead) and as it doesn't give you any ammo until you reach the end of a section (which are long) you're stuffed unless you're good at ammo conservation. That, and it doesn't give you a Melee weapon until late on in the game means that if you run out of ammo: you're screwed.

However, it is a great mod. Superb attention to detail.

Just as a word of warning however: I've heard reports that people have been VAC Banned for this Mod as it changes opengl32.dll files or something. I've not been banned, nor see how you could be (Its only singleplayer) but just be careful.

you could get banned if you try to play any other HL1 mods online if you have that .dll installed.

Screens look great for HL1. It's awesome that HL1 is still alive and kicking, especially considering it's base engine is still the quake engine.
