Maybe it would help to, ehm...reduce crime without giving everyone the ability to kill other people at a distance by pulling a trigger (first time I fired a shotgun, I was able to hit a couple of clay pigeons, people shouldn't be too hard).

Do you have a super handsome mate? (hugs and kisses KP)

Odd thing is that im 14, and it would take me about 30 minutes to get an AK47 and a few mags and ammo for under 150$

just the society we live in and it would be severely hard to ever put a choke on illegal weapons unless we banned them all and even then theres bound to be some still around and in easy access with anyone who holds over 100$

Katie Couric, while interviewing a Royal Marine sniper, asked:
"What do you feel when you shoot an Arab Terrorist?"

The Marine shrugged and replied , "A slight recoil."

Guns are good for home security, but outside of one's home it's kind of a touchy issue. If people weren't allowed to carry concealed firearms in public, there would probably be less gang violence and other types of gun crime. Overall though, I still think that everyone should have:

JoetheMoe: actually a shotgun made for killing people can kill u from 30 to 50 yards
MadCat2400: As opposed to a shotgun made for baking cakes?

But ever wondered why they are so easy to get in an illegal way in the first place ?
And why are they so cheap ? and where do those illegal guns come from in the first place ?

Having this discussion without even considering those basic questions pretty much amounts to throwing hot air around.

The man has wisdom ...
Really, where do they come from? Slipping some off the back of retailer is usually the quickest and easiest way to obtain something and get it into the black market. Takes a lot more effort (and money) to bring things into the country.

But do you want primary/elementary school teachers checking their safeties when they're meant to teaching kids how to read, write and make potato print paintings?

I wouldn't want my kids around a teacher that's carrying a weapon in the off chance that another Thomas Hamilton might show up. If a crazy turned up it'd be like the OK Corral with a sandpit and swings.

Exactly.

What's French for "déjà vu"?

Phil Collins doesn't cut it around here

All the cops I've ever seen are the ones who sit in their squad cars trying to catch me going 5mph over the limit, or are sitting in the same store as me staring at me as if I'M the enemy.

Cops do NOT make me safe in the slightest. In fact, they make me feel incredibly uneasy.

Here in Alaska, everybody, and I mean EVERYbody has a rifle. And not just small 9mm's, or .223 like other people are used to, but very large caliber rifles. Ranging up to .50 cal's. All because hunting is just one of our ways of life. Alot of people eat only what they shoot, whether it be deer, caribou, bear, elk, moose....ect. Banning guns here would be like banning pizza in New York, or beer in London?

Sigged.

And Motivator, I doubt your prices are quite spot on there. Possibly with a crappy revolver. But I've been offered 9mm Glocks ("in the original box w/ owner's manual, bro!") for $900 CDN by some very unsavory people I've come across. Obviously I didn't take them up on their offer. The point is that I think that illegal firearms probably cost more than their legal counterparts. Of course I may have been offered a crappy deal. I wasn't shopping around or anything.

You are saying that carry concealed would lower crime? To carry concealed, you must have your CCW permit on you. I don't thing gang members have those permits.
