Northern Expsore mini-mod launch (aussie mod)

Ok guys, we are finally there, we have finished with the beta testing of our mini-mod and would like to let you guys know about us.

Northern Exposure is a mod that has it's beginnings with Project Reality. Hurst and I have always been massive fan of Rhino's Muttrah City, the fast pace of the heli insertions and the lack of heavy firepower always made it a 'thinking mans' map. Well, we used that concept to create a mod of our own. We expanded on the theme with a more rural 'exposed' scenario, giving it an Australian feel and have added bot support so that no matter how many players are in the map, you can always have a good game.

The style of NE mod is loosley based on low level conflict in the north of Australia. It's focus is on heli insertion of special forces troops as well as heli support of the troops. We have cut out almost all of the heavy firepower and put the emphasis on combined airborne and infantry tactics. If you enjoy flying choppers or being a grunt and being supported by choppers then this is the mod for you.

We do not have the same level of complexity or realism as PR, but we do have the basics such as realistic ballistics and weapon loadouts, no name tags etc. So if you are a PR fan, then I bet that you will be an NE fan as well. Just ask a couple of your Aussie PR cousins (Bahyle and Uncle Darth) what they think, they have both been helping us out with the beta testing and I am pretty sure they will both have positive comments to say about the mod.

We are not 7 day a week players, we enjoy getting onto the server once or twice a week for a solid couple of hours gaming. At the moment we are working on Wednesday nights ( GMT +8 ) as our gaming night. So don't give up PR, just use NE as 'extra curricular' training for PR and join us on Wednesday nights for a good game.

When I create a local to check it out I crash with the following error:

File: D:\Aphrodite\BF2_1.4\Code\Bf2\Game\GameLogic\GameL ogic.cpp
Line: 1240

Texture: Unable to find GamePlayObjects.con

So I would assume you guys forgot to add the GPO.con file to the map?

EDIT: My game doesn't load up, just sends me back to desktop :/
Works just fine on PR.

Should be fine mate ...... if you fire up a local make sure you fire up a coop game. This is a coop mod and there are no conquest maps in game, even though the single mission game is listed as a conquest.

If not just join the server online, it should show up as a listed server. Either add the IP address as shown on our website www.northernexposuremod.com

Do you have Special Forces (Xpak) installed mate, you will need that expansion pack to play the game. We not as sophistacated as PR and need players to have the Xpak installed in order to play the mod

We had a good round on the server last night, with about 6 of the Aussie PR boys sticking their noses in for a look.

The main comment comparing it to PR was that NE is a little faster paced, but not like Vanilla. So if you think this sounds good, drop by and have a play, we welcome all.
