Anyone who thinks Arma MP is shit, needs to come play with RGG or another like minded Arma unit. Seriously guys, dont judge the game by playing it on a pubby server. You just wont get the same experience.

Just to avoid misunderstanding, I personally think ArmA is great game, but I almost never play it on publics. I'm playing it with my "squad" on passworded server the way it should be played with great fun.

Call of Duty 4, a finnished product for 29.99 Pound Sterling.
Armed Assault, practically a beta of ArmA2 for 19.99 Pound Sterling. I would trade ArmA's and both of QG's single player campaings for half of CoD4's single player any day. CoD4's single player is refined (a word ArmA fanboys take offence to) and most importantly of all, finnished. Multiplayer is uncompareable as they are two different styles. |

Actually you're wrong with the point there.
I've never seen any conscious ArmA player to say that the SP is good. It's totally terrible... Well, you still got the editor there which I found out to be like 1000x more entertaining than the SP. |

Ill be the first person to say the campaign for Arma was terrible, and is in no way a reflection of what BIS are capable of. If you want to experience a good camapign, buy OFP and the expansions for £5 of eBay. The camapaigns that shipped with it are second to none.

Your reaction after playing a round of CoD4, be it drunk, high, or sober will be: BOY THAT WAS AWESOME, NOW I CAN'T SLEEP CAUSE MY BLOOD IS PUMPIN.
After playing a round of ArmA, you'll be like: Damn I need to sleep/do something else, took up so much of my time. HOWEVER, CoD4 gives a quicker fun factor than ArmA, but I don't know if it lasts as long. Plus CoD4 won't have the same level of "seriousness" that people look for, so it can't disappoint. I also think CoD4 has a more epic sense of feel, because everything is hitting the fan almost all the time. PS - CoD4 doesn't have vehicles, but they could add it on. They did so with the original CoD. PPS - People say graphics don't matter, but I sure as hell think they are important. My rig could barely run ArmA, leaving my graphics really crappy. However, I could run CoD4 half decently and things looked nice. Helps game immersion by a lot. |

I think the huge thing that CoD really has over ArmA is the animations and AI.
Call of duty 4's animations (death animations, enemies getting hit animations etc.) look fantastic and i love seeing them every time. ArmA's on the other hand, look like ass, esp the death animations. Also while i don't think ArmA should have CoD's AI, because its made for a vastly different game, its much much better for that game then ArmAs are. I still enjoy playing ArmA, but i don't always have the time or means to get into a good organized game. I usually just play PR instead... |

This Sunday RGG are going to be hosting an organised game of ArmA for the evening, there will be approx 18 places (some of which taken up by RGG members but there are places available for the PR community who have arma that want to experience some organised gaming). If your interested could you PM me please. Its going to go down Sunday 18th at 2000GMT. I'd prefer european players to limit desync problems, but NA peeps with a nice connection are welcome to. I'm currently in the process of making the mission we will be using and I have some good ideas for it
