Is/has anyone been a pilot in the RAF?

Hi,

I'm considering joining the RAF as a pilot (assuming, that they accept me of course). I've wanted to do it for years now, and I'm getting to an age where I need to choose a career, and stick at it.

I just want to hear what its like, from an actual pilot, to be a pilot in the RAF. Ya know, being away from family, the 'community' aspect, do you regret it.

I really appreciate any answers I get,

They were going to pay my degree for me and I'd go in as an officer. Then I realised the 12 years you have to stay there for in return. Can't beat the student loan ;]
