First of all, there is nothing really new.
You can't be serious. Have you even finished the game?

SPOILER!

- The sniper mission, crawling between enemy forces.
- The sniper mission, end part.
- The sniper mission, being able to pick up the wounded sniper and put him down so he can provide cover. How fluid was that?
- AC-130, need I say more?
- The game ending... wow.
- The animations (including the nukes taking off right in front of you)
- The whole ship sinking scene.
- The pilot rescue mission and the rescue itself.
- The nuke explosion...!
- The intro scene when you're being dragged around by insurgents.

The entire game is extremely engaged and has so many things that other games simply don't have.

Well like I said, all the talk about it was very exciting. Then I tried the demo - and now I'm definitly not going to buy it. and I'm very detailed why I'm NOT going to buy it and try these, I must say, VERY script heavy """features""" you say...
There are so many reasons for me not to buy it, and if what you say is true, then I fear its even more scripted than the demo was.

Yeah man, i was -incredibly- pi55ed off not to see this. In fact i'm pretty disappointed that noone else mentioned this.

Lets hope we don't bother with a realism mod for COD4, Crysis or anything else until you get a decent engine coming out. I.E. OFP2, the only decent choice on paper.

Sorry Some forums have a spoiler option you can do (im sure you can do it in vbulletin). I would encapsulate something in SPOILER tags and that way you have to click once for it show up.

up to you. you're missing out

the game is like watching a cool movie but being able to participate. the scripted sequences don't feel scripted at all. in fact the demo mission is probably the worst one in the entire game. oh well, can't win em all.

I don't think there will ever be a game out of the box that is about realism to the extent this community expects. We go on and on about how X game isn't PR and PR is the standard bla bla bla and it seems people forget that PR is actually BF2, which sucked IMO. ArmA even is IMO crap out of the box and decent with mods. Unless the game industry goes back to the likes of R6 and GR, in other words SIM, only mods will ever bring realism to the level we want.

To dismiss this game because of scripting is rediculous, do you enjoy WAR films in the cinema? Most here do, yet 99% of all war movies are anything but realistic. COD4 is a war movie that you take part in and it does that damn well.

QFT, I don't play the COD series for realism I play it for alot of action, cool moments, the fact that you get to do alot of stuff (Sniping/Ground Assault/Vehicles (In COD2) and the fact that it has replayability. I think I have played the COD2 campaign like 2 and a half times :P
