i thought you could swap between single and auto fire modes in the demo? can't remember what key it was, guess someone didn't read the manual (or at least the controls screen!)

This game is fun and intense. I am playing it on veteran and it gets so OOC, which I enjoy. The TV station inside, the level of crazyness I could only think of Blackhawk Down. It's action movie but good action movie stuff, trying to find cover when bullets are tearing through walls and there are 20 guys shooting at you and you only have time to pop up and nail 1 or 2 before they kill you (veteran) and all the grenades dropping at your feet. Good shit.

The animations in this game are sick, best I've ever seen. Esp the first person view, for example when your draw your pistol the way the hands come together to grab the grips fingers extended then wrap around the grip is perfect.

Sometimes you will just wound a guy and he will be laying there half propped up on an elbow still taking shots at you with his pistol, which is cool indeed.

Presentation wise and the way the player moves is probably the best ever in FPS.

And why are the SAS using Blackhawks? I am sure Crab Air's special forces squadron uses the Huey and the Sea King, not to mention the best transport helicopter in the world; the Lynx.

You expect to much realism from a COD game.

America was a tad late into the First World War. They redeemed themself's and came in slightly sooner in the Second. Now they seem determined to start the Third.

Unless I'm blind, there isn't any button shown here to switch between fire modes.

Firemodes are non-selectable. First thing a realism mod should fix. Most other things are working well enough in hardcore mode. A bit should be changed about movement to prevent bunny hopping.

As for single-shot fire mode: In multi player the G3 is stuck on single fire (It normally has safe/semi/full) Seems they didn't want to complicate things with another key... speaks for how IW sees their player base.

But the game is very well done and fun. Should even be enjoyable for most PR players. It's just another type of gameplay in MP. A bit too fast pacing for my likes.

I must say that I dont like it a bit.

First of all, there is nothing really new. Yes there is that "smoothness" of movement, and the IR beams from the US weapons..

besides that its the same crappy linear gameplay as always, and you always know when and where enemies will appear.
Enemies can take quite some rounds too without losing combat effectiveness.

In the demo I was shocked to see that they have tried to make it look real, but when the cobras came down they put them selves at risk and almost rammed into buildings.

Then I though, "ok, then the multiplayer will be great"... but then I heard about some of the stuff.
For example there is this thing about your weapon getting more penetrating power just because you got a new "skill/perk".. they didnt even bother to create the illusion that you at least used a different type of ammo or something. So 2 different soldiers with the same weapon shooting at the same place wont do equal damage if one of them has this "skill"...

I know I sound very pessimistic, but I really had an open mind when I first tried it. In fact I was looking forward to playing it - especially since I've heard so many good things about it.
I must say that it dissapointed me. I still think the best COD was "Call of Duty"...

As someone else also pointed out - you cant select firemodes, which ultimatly means that this game is made for full auto - which means very little thought of tactical gameplay went into this.

To conclude all of this, I would like to say that its often the small stuff and features that make me want to play a game, and unfortunatly its also that same thing that can make me want not to play a game.
As a future game designer, I see a lot of flaws here (at least from the point of view I have on video games), but then again I see what they have done:
They have tried to make the new CS. And stuff like that SELLS games for the mainstream marked - which is "safe" for the gaming industry. Also they have put a lot of effort into marketing the game - which ultimatly works.

but in the end thats just my opinion, and I'm only speaking my mind.
