I've tried it on the free download, I played for 5 mins before quickly deciding that I hated it. The weapons felt like they have no power, and far too arcady for me. Vanilla bf2 feels like project reality in comparison.
I just tried the crysis demo as well, and am a bit undecided whether to buy or not.
The graphics look great at 1920x1200 on high, but I don't know why, but it just doesn't feel right. Again, should it really take 3 headshots to kill a guy?
I'm hoping cod4 will be better, but suspect again, that it just wont be as good as pr.

True lol :P. hopefully Front lines will be a great game like desert combat mod is and then we can move on from BF2 engine on to a better one.

Well, I know we're all supposed to say we hate any multiplayer that isn't Project Reality, but I actually find Quake Wars sufficently entertaining. The close quarters combat does have annoyingly arcadey feel, and the weapons do feel underpowered, but that's only going to ruin the game for you if you play the whole game with your primary weapon out. Once you start using some of your secondary gear (deployables, hacking tool, mines, flyer drones, etc.), the game doesn't feel so arcadey. I can't say the game is going to be one of my all time favorites, but IMO it's worth the purchase.

The only thing I enjoyed in the beta was dropping in missile pods and lazerin' those big walky things and taking them down in one swoop.

I love Quake Wars. I knew what it`s gonna be like (big ET and UT fan) and I got what I wanted. The teamwork can be great if you`re in the right servers and the overall feeling is awesome.
Not every single game has to be realistic like pr.

I`m used to twitch games so blowing some bunnyhopping/strafing bastard`s head off is as easy as piss. Playing UT 2k4 and UT3 demo helps a lot on the aim part.
