ok... I'm not entirely sure... still doing research on this but it seems you have to be military/le or a class 3 dealer at the moment to get one
http://www.hecklerkoch-usa.com/le_mp7a1_general.html (its not on the civvy page but it is in the LE page) I'm still searching though. |

About the LEO and military part, you can't just for ask them, your department must ask a Class 3 dealer. Quote:

Well, because I live in Washington state, I get screwed, as here it is illegal to own a machine gun unless I can prove I am employed in the sale, manufacture, testing or repair of machine guns which will be either exported, or bought by state or federal agencies...
I don't think a class three dealer's license covers that, but im not sure. ive been unable to find an actual application form for that anywhere, ive just figured out that it costs 200 bucks, and ill have to wait till im 21. apparently, it is possible (and has been done) to set up your house has a 'dealership', but this legally subjects your house to ATF inspections (cough cough raids) essentially whenever they want. So unless there's semi auto version of the gun made (and a full auto conversion kit > unless i want to create a fake id saying i live in oregon or idaho and illegally transport the gun across state lines.... heh... or perhaps fly over to germany, buy the gun and somehow ship it home... lol... |

well if you do wait for the civvy version to come out (no difference just semi auto and (i think) a full stock because the one on the mp7 is a collapseable stock[illegal without class 3?])
i know a guy who has his hous set up as one... he gets checked a few times a year... but its very annoying and prolly embrassing when it happens... (they did a swat style raid one time at his house.. the others just have been a few guys that come in and look around) getting the semi and then a full auto conversion not only is ILLEGAL its expensive... there is a thing you can get that will "simulate" full auto. it bolts to the trigger and it rotates (via hand crank) and pulls the trigger. and its legal and considered by atf and whatnot as a semi auto. http://gatlingguns.com/indexframeset.html go there then click gat trigger. and if you ask.. the exploading targets are LOUD! i had the smallest one and it was so loud...it hurt my ears through earplugs and earmuffs... id hate and love to see what the 2 pounder does... |

If it has a less than 16 inch bbl with a stock, just register it as an SBR with the ATF. For the MP7 to be legal it would have to be: A) Short barrel "pistol", no stock or B) 16" barrel with a stock, collapsible stock or full. I would go with A. | ||
