Just beat Portal... Took me about 3 1/2 hours because I got stuck on a couple of the levels. Its 1:35 am, and my brain is tired.

That was epic.

Beat Portal last night. Good fun, launching out of portals is so freaking sweet. Its almost as you can feel yourself pass through them. I dono, it's mind pleasing stuff. haha

Beat Portal last night...I wasn't even really interested in it, seeing how I don't really like puzzle games. But damn it was amazing when you really got into it. My only wish is that you could get the portal gun in multi-player...think of the hours of fun you could have with it.

Did anyone find it strange that they transported you from level to level in an elevator when they could have just opened up something like a one-way green or red portal (which doesn't exist)

It was probably loading stuff while you were in the elevator, dono though it would have been cool to just pop into the next test, but it would have cut the game total time down quite a bit more. lol

i have completed portal in 2.6 hours WOOT.

i completed it all in one sitting.

oh and i found a garden gnome in ep2

@Fortnight: The lift is used to load the next level fluidly. You'll notice that all loads in Valve games have "smooth loads" where you enter an area which is blocked off, it loads, and it opens the next area allowing you to continue. Although only half of the lifts in Portal actually load, the other half are used for continuity.

@Thunder: If you take that gnome with you throughout the entire game (I have no idea how you'd manage that) you can put him in the rocket when you launch it and get an achievement.

There's no way you can take it with you on the car sections. It's either walk with it, or precariously balance it on the bonnet while driving reeeaallly slowly.

maybe its if you find them, ive found several as ive played along the game. Maybe its like a collection quest. Btw, anyone found the connection between Portal and HL2?

/just finished portal, then ending song was epic, story was awsome!
