how would you make BF3?

just wondering what features you guys would like to see in a sequel to BF2

in a fictional world EA has allocated a team of all star game developers, unlimited funding with no deadline to create the sequel to BF2, set in the same time period with the same general battlefield gameplay.

What features would you have them add into this game?

my choices
  • Dynamic Weather patterns set by server admin, ranges from clouds, to thunderstorms which all dynamically effect the environment (rain makes ground muddy which slows you down, vehicles slide on the roads)
  • Physics engine
  • Destructible environments (Abrams > Tree)
  • hand signals for squad commands
  • working doors (destructible, openable) for all buildings with interiors
  • 128+ players
  • OPEN SOURCE (for mod developers) (would never happen with EA but a guy can dream)

your turn...

My idea would be everything thats in Halflife 2, SOF2, Arma, and! 1944 dday operation over lord. These games have everything. Combine them all and you got bf3. Well... almost.....

Don't assume anything or you will make an ass out of you an me.

If by some random chance that I acquired the rights to BF2, I would do 2 things.

1. Turn over all control of the project to the PR dev's and give them whatever they need to make BF3 come to life.

2. Pay them handsomely for their work.

You would make it open source? Not planning on seeing any return with your investment, are you?

I wouldn't make a BF3. Time for the franchise to go away, even though I know it wont.

And if I had to, it would be "Battlefield: Korea", because it's a forgotten war :<

I'd love a very detailed damage system including:

-Bullets are stopped totally by hard-cover protection vests until the they are shattered.
-A simulated organs and skeleton to define the lethality of a shot.
-Consequentional realistic impairing of the fighting capability: Shot in the foot/leg: no running or even standing upright,Shot in the arm:screwed up aim unless you can support your weapon,Shot in the primary hand: unable to shoot unless you switch arms, which results also in screwed up aim.
-Realistic medical options ranging from just patching up a flesh wound to stabilizing somebody who got a near lethal shot until Medevac comes up.

He probably means like Valve does.

I'd call that BF:WW2 episode 2. Lol i kid a BF:Korea is a good idea but the it would really be just WW2 all over again with not much different weapons.

I would like to see Game supported multiplayer campaigns, with the commander taking on an almost RTS type role.

maybe design several theaters that could be played:
WW2
Cold War
Desert Strike
Realistic Future combat
(and yes i realize a game like that would be HUGE 'prolly FSX huge)

and yes I would LOVE to see BF3 be more like PR(bleed outs, kit choices, having to follow orders)

maybe have support for singleplayer too? something other then pick a Demo sized map and shot and stupid mots mindlessly while your computer controlled teammates play hopscotch, or whatever the hell else theyre doing besides taking back a flag.

You know what else i would also do? Make it mandatory that there could be more then 2 teams on the same map! Like says US & Brits vs MEC $ Insurgents, Or 3 for all US vs MEC vs Pla, Or 2 on 1/3 on 1/ 3 on 2/ etc. Now that would be awesome!
