Yeah, those old school games where pretty great. Pizza Tycoon is also awesome.

They don't make 'em like they used to. It was as if the original Theme games were made for the enjoyment of the player rather than the enjoyment of the accountant. Nowadays you get cookie-cutter tycoon games that are seemingly knocked out in a few weeks with little if any original thought.

There is a relatively recently released game called Hospital Tycoon, but it supposedly fails miserably.

There was one that tried to make a soap opera/game dealie, but that failed too. They try to do too much. Theme hospital + shiny new GFX would be hot cakes. I wonder who owns the Copyright now, since Bullfrog awas EAten IIRC I suppose it woud be supermegapwnagedumbitdownabitCorp.

My sister plays TH, I saw it running on her PC last week and had a go.

I can name a few games that cannot be replaced.
Theme Hospital
The Sims (The Sims 2 is crap)
Tomb Raider
and Project Reality
