They aren't removing old purchases are they? But seriously, they have one pack out for 2142, how many more are they planning?

A few fps games are going 'pay for ammo' or special weapons, so it's not terribly bad.

It will make mods come alive though, free ones that is.

then 1 month later it will be "we have made it soo now you must buy ammo for your new unlock of your hand held minigun, each minigun round costs £2s!"

Gara, the beautiful thing about capitalism is that if the other companies remain fair and don't pull stunts like this, EA will complete **** itself over. The possible outcome which I sure as hell hope never happens is that other companies join on this sadistic bandwagon and then the consumers right to choose really has no meaning anymore.

EA will probably make mods pay money just for that reason :/

I only bought Euro Force through EA downloader, and I will definately not miss that crappy want-a-be expansion.

Well they are only doing this because there are no alternatives. Unlike people manufacturing cars where you have a great variety there just are not that many developers creating BF2 style games (worth mentioning).

This means in short term they may make a profit and get away with is without too much direct damage. But since they are drawing the hate of many customers upon themselves they will be having a much harder time in the future. Many players will ask themselves why they should support EA by buying their games. I bet there already are millions lost because of people who decided not to buy a game since it was published by EA.

I am not happy with the situation. I wish EA was less greedy and would treat their customers fairly which would make those (including myself) more happy. The only good thing to be said about the situation is that it will probably help the competition if EA loses ground.
