Interesting facts from this thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...d.php?t=535896

"You have a melee attack with your weapon, which pushes the infected back. Tactical uses of this become apparant with the knowledge that pushing one into another will cause both to fall down, and domino effects are quite in play. Also, the only way to effectively combat the Boomer at close range is to push him back and run away out of his explosion radius before shooting him."

"Also, as a Survivor, you can close and lock doors behind you. This effectively stalls any infected pursuing you. They can break through the door a bit at a time, but it takes a while. And Survivors having the ability to blow holes in the door as well make for some interesting scenes involving a Survivor firing into a horde of infected through a hole in a door to great effect. Of course, Tanks don't find doors to hard to open. Or walls."

"The speed at which you move is affected by your health too. 100% and you're beating Cathy Freeman, 1% and you're slower than a two-legged turtle with heamorrhoids."

"Also, there is an implemented auto-alert system in which your character automatically says something when a certain event happens (ie 'Help' when knocked down, or 'Boomer' when the crosshairs are on a Boomer for a second or two)"

"There is over 1000 lines of dialogue for each character so you won't be hearing the same thing repeated over and over again."

"At the end of each campaign, there will be an elaborate “last stand” in which you and your mates must hold off wave upon wave of Infected waiting for the rescue vehicle to come and uh…..rescue you. The infected will temporarily stop attacking you so you can set up your defence (manning the .50 cal, setting up gas bottles), then you radio the rescue helicopter, a timer pops up, and all goes to hell. This is especially hard and you will be facing much more opponents than you did on foot to the helipad. Two tanks as well. Infected rejoice."

He says 5 campaigns, campain with skilled survivors will mean 1 hour of play if they don't die. Does that mean 1 hour for all 5, or per campaign? Even per campaign thats still not alot of gameplay :P Game better be 19.99
Im sure that some or all campains will be fun to play more then once, and its a steam game so there WILL be map packs for free

Riki, I think you would be better off with just joining the No More Room In Hell mod team, their understanding of a great zombie game seems similar to yours.

@okita
i know, the scope seems to be there just for decoration, which is weird because you allllways see M-14s with scopes, how often do you see M-14s in games without one?

@ DF
that's 20 maps, PR has about 20 maps, are you bored with all 20 yet?

@bosco
yeah I have thought about the same thing, but god knows where that dev team is right now, and how much further they have to go, at least with L4D you can still have a fun game that is just a mini-mod. from what i can tell, im not even sure if nmrih will be 50% done by the time L4D hits shelves, maybe I'll send them an e-mail.

actually i did think about that, but i think you would want to travel at night anyways because it would be harder to see you. but yeah, maybe some day maps, i feel the same way.

A day trip to a walmart supercenter. That would be a good map, you would have to find a list of supplies in the store while zombies start to appear in greater numbers outside and are pouring in + some already in the store when you enter.
