First Strike Mod

As some of you may know there is this game called Battlefield 2142. It's Sci Fi and all that. Well as maybe 1-3 of you know theres a Star Wars mod coming out for 2142 called First Strike. It comes out the 28th of September, and its already the 22nd!

I am an Alpha Tester for First Strike and I can tell you its one hell of an experience.

From fully functional, tanks, turrets, shields, droids, scanners, traps, fighters, bombers, to the massive FULLSCALE capitol ships like the Correllian Corvette, Nebulon B Frigate, Gallofree Medium Transport, Carrack Cruiser, and Lancer. And you can count on even more in Release 2!

The mod also has a vast accumulation of weapons... 5 classes and too many weapons to count. As well as deployable heavy guns with their own deployable power sources as seen in the movies

First Strike also has some of the behemoth iconic weapons of war from the Empire... But I cant say which one(s).

Gamemodes, everyone likes a change of pace right? Well First Strike has a couple new gamemodes to offer you as well. There is an escape gamemode that has already been shown in a trailer, the others I am not at liberty to say, but there isn't a boring conquest mode at all

First Strike was built from the ground up, everything new, not even the ROCKS are from 2142... So if you played 2142, were disgusted, and uninstalled it right away, this may be the mod to make those $50 finally worth it. The devs have made a totally new game from the 2142 engine.

I give you a challenge. Go watch a Star Wars film (4-6) and tell me you wouldn't love to fight out those epic battles, I mean come on!

People, this is not a remake of Battlefront 1 or 2.

This is First Strike, and it will blow your mind the very moment you take a step into the beautifully detailed and accurate environments.

Also as ASF has been awaiting it's release for a long while now, we will be renting a server for it most definitely.

I can't wait for it, been waiting ever since 2142 came out! Now if I can get Punkbuster to stop hating my copy for some reason I'll definately play it.

Thats amazing!!! i'll have to reinstall 2142 now. My question is does it come with Single player???

I can help you get the 2142 maps to work with single player (FS soldiers and weapons) if you don't know how.

OMFG!!!!! I CANT FREAKING WAIT. AND NIETHER CAN MY DAD!!! HE LOVES STARWARS (he was a 70s kid... like eric in that 70s sho. he was the same age as him in that year.)

btw did they fix ragdolls?!

I was a fan of this mod while it was still being developed for BF2... Shame I can't play BF2142 on my current rig and I have to admit, I won't be buying 2142 just for First Strike... Shame maybe because it looks fantastic!

I wonder how the devs avoid getting into a copyright conflict with LucasArts over this. I hear they are guarding their rights quite jealously.

In fact, there was a SW mod for UT back in the day that got shut down due to copyright issues.

They are under special agreements with Lucas Arts, as were all successful StarWars mods. Also I would like ot say that if your PC can play BF2, PR it can most likely play FS no sweat. I get much better performance with FS than I do with BF2 or PR.
