Yes, we could have. The french only got involved after victories at Ft Ticonderoga, which is the major turning point of the war. From there we swept down from the north. All the french did was hurry along the inevitable, which saved a lot of lives and resources. British public, much like america today, was weary of war and wanted an end. It was going the way of the colonies before the french got involved.

Hehe, the pic is old and not so funny but almost true. Our army is poor, because our government prefers spending money for health and education instead of giving it to the ministère de la défense.
In the same time they sell their last generation armors, battle jets and appropriated maintenance contracts to Kadafhi, so that's not a mistake for the french weaponery industry. Sure that's a shame, sorry I voted for the other campaigner.
