Best PCI-e Graphics Card Splurge Option?

I have the Xtreme Music edition, and it serves me really well. The sound is amazing. You'll love it. Can't tell about the Gamer.
Maybe you want to take a look at my PC specs. I like my Graphics card too...

pull out the 512meg sticks, see if gaming is better!

Look at the x-fi Music card, same price as gamer, has gaming hardware acceleration and come on! just look at it, theres far more on it and music and gaming is where we need the bonus of far clearer sound and reduction in cpu stress.

As to your GPU. I currently have the x1950pro and don't feel like spending more on a newer card right now. I don't see the point of paying obscene amounts of cash on a card I might not see the benefit of in games I play.

Put the cash in the bank and wait for gear to come down in a year or so when you need the better hardware. Or save it towards car/mortgage/whatever. Theres a sensible limit to buying bling when you don't have to.

btw, i just looked it up, i have a PCI-E 16x, in use by the x1900gt
an unused PCI-E 1X...are these used? theyre so tiny lol
and two PCI slots. One has the TV tuner which Ill take out, and one has the modem dealy.

Hmm, now i really just dont know which lol gamer or music, i guess gamer edition?

and as far as the RAM goes... i didnt notice increase or decrease in performance... maybe one day ill get bored and check again using ArmA or something...

Just purchased a Like new X-fi XtremeMusic sound card off amazon. Expedited shipping, should be here around the weekend (I hope) or just after.

Thread can be locked. Everyone, I appreciate the good comments and suggestions. It was a good help. And it only cost me 75$! well, 80 or something w/ shipping. I'll save the rest for something bigger later...like... bills when im 24...
