Well, I already downloaded it and have been playing using the same name. Its a bit early for me to pass judgement on the gameplay, so I'll keep at it for a while.

Full graphics are not exactly amazing. The deployables are good, the way they are sent is good (although the multipul rotor vehicle that drops them is ugly).

Thats what I can't seem to understand, the game looks pretty good but not amazing but yet I get probably around 20FPS. I see people team whoring the strogg when this game comes out. Think of it this way, the sniper on GDF gets a 'third eye' which is a camera he puts down and he can detonate it or use it as a third eye. The Strogg equivalent can fly.

Just played with Desertfox for a while - non sexually this time.

Strogg have lots of advantages over the GDF, and the Icarus is really annoying.

Other than that, it's really good, and am looking forward to buying it.

ALT+Enter to go into windowed mode. Then ALT+Tab all you want. ALT+Enter to restore.

Yeah strogg do have some advantages, although I hate the strogg sniper. The thing looks like it should be firing a ppc from mech warrior, not a small accurate round. Also, for those of you who have'nt done it yet, grab an air vehicle and bring it to a nice hover just above the water. They did a very good job with the misting effects.

EA is a big balloon waiting to blow up. If EA expects BSS to do mods for them then they should push out some money. 2 million dollars for one year period. Yea thats right. Why should we kiss their butts when they don't care about their community at all instead they make kid games for the big masses.

Don't tell me you guys haven't figured out that not only do the Icarus fliers bounce and fly in almost slow motion (leading fire control class 101), they also have to come back to land after a good high bounce, and are then super vulnerable?...Zap! dead! next please!

It's still impossible to hit them when they're in the air, and the longest they're on the ground for is 2 seconds. As far as I can tell, when they're in the Icarus, you do damage to the vehicle itself, as opposed to the person, which is really annoying.

Desertfox and I played a few rounds last night, using the same strategy nearly each and every time. I would spawn as a Soldier, and Desertfox would spawn as a Covert Ops. We'd take the Platypus, which is almost always available, and proceed towards the sewer entrance where I'd place down an HE charge. We'd the move into the tunnel from the back and wait until our team constructed the bridge. When they did, we'd capture the tunnel spawn and then quickly move towards the now blown up sewer entrance. We'd move down the sewer in a platypus, and follow a tunnel up towards the shield generator. When our team moved the MCP up towards the objective, Desertfox would quickly hack the shield generator.

When that was done, we proceeded back down the tunnel, and headed further back until we came to a tunnel which led to the shield generator. We's then try and hack it, but since we were no longer one step ahead of everybody else, it became a little harder.

Okay, after an extensive tour of duty playing GDF, I've concluded that the Strogg indeed have a built in defensive as well as offensive advantage...their individual weapons and classes are more powerful...But wait!

...After getting beat to hell every round for the first weeks of demo play. The GDF has been slowly winning a few. I played a couple servers last night and noticed that the GDF won almost every round....how?

In a brilliant move, Splash damage has forced the GDF to use teamwork like no other developers have so far, (with the exception of our PR Devs) or face humiliation every round. So that's the balance, you want to play with superior weapons and lone wolf, you go Strogg you want teamwork you go GDF. This game will get a bit interesting.

*One more point; if the teams were evenly balanced it would have been just another vBF2'oob.
