Try reseating RAM and graphics card. Also find a memory checker to make sure there aren't any faults there.

Good call on the anti-static check MrD, I forgot to mention that precaution (ground your PC by touching the metal case before touching anything with electric circuits or wear an anti-static wrist band. An accidental charge of static electricity to your RAM could in fact be the cause of a major error. Oh and...make sure the PC is turned off as well.
...and Ice Killer, I didn't mean a total crash and burn of your RAM, I was refering to a Major Error event. I turn my machine off after about 12 hours as well and in the last 3 years on this machine I've gotten one major error. It's like a crap shoot, everytime you reboot you start with optimum odds in your favor the RAM won't fail, but it's still just odds and could happen at any moment. |
