CAP is a way to have SAR missions in the continental US without having to task the NG or military to it. If you're 200lbs, have a medical issue that precludes you from true military service, but can fly a prop plane like a pro, you can help out in SAR without joining the military.
In a country where you've got 244,820 sq km to lose someone, that may not seem to be a big help. However, the US is 9,826,630 sq km, and those "wannabe" pilots can be a big help with national disasters. |

Reality is what we take to be true. What we take to be true is what we believe. What we believe is based upon our perceptions. What we perceive depends upon what we look for. What we look for depends on what we think. What we think depends on what we perceive. What we perceive determines what we believe. What we believe determines what we take to be true. What we take to be true is our reality.
