Play F.E.A.R. and Doom 3.
Maybe you will be scared, but you will love to be.

F.E.A.R. is a damn fun game but its not scary. If you want scary try System Shock 2, Silent Hill 1-3, Fatal Frame 2, Eternal Darkness, and the remake of Resident Evil for the gamecube.

Man Eternal darkness was a creepy game and easily the coolest scary game i ever played. I remember when i first played the RE1 remake for the gamecube i turned it off because i was so scared..... Was a bad ass game tho. I never liked the silent hill series and i have never played fatal frame, maybe i will check it out.

F.E.A.R. Isn't extremely scary, but its really creepy. The kind of creepy that makes you not want to turn the corner, or walk down the hallway. Its also a pretty cool FPS in general. I recommend it.

My only problem with F.E.A.R. (aside from the title) was that every time something supposedly scary happens, it warns about 10 seconds in advance by having your radio static (silent hill ripoff also) and you get that "unknown" on it. Even without this it was easy to tell when the scares were coming due to the general pacing of the game.

The only exception in the game was:

(SPOILERS...i guess)

The end of the game when you run into 'adult' Alma. That was quite well done and very creepy looking.

I played FEAR and although they warned you in advance it still was kinda creepy because even though you were expecting it... you didn't know WHERE she was gonna show up lol...

I played that on my laptop in my room one night before bed... with the lights off and had my stereo sound headphones on... scared the hell outta me when even though there was a warning, it made me jittery...
