I have the saitek X45 and had no particular problems setting it up.
The best way is to use the directx button and axis detection. So first you are better off clearing any profile from the saitek configuration thingy when using with BF2. When you assign an axis, click on either buttons for the control (for example, select either "pitch up" or "pitch down" to assign an axis to the pitch control) and move the axis you want to assign to this control. Once an axis is detected, it sets it for both controls (so both pitch up and down will be assigned automatically). What I experienced is that, when detecting the axis, it detected it in a specific direction. If the control is inverted, when assigning it, select the other control and you should be find. For example, if you assing pitch to axis 1 by selecting "pitch up" and moving the axis and you get an inverted response, reassing the axis to the pitch control by selecting the "pitch down" control. Now the axis should be inverted to what it was. I remember I had to do that with the throttle control. For button it works pretty straight forward using the DirectX button handling. With the X45, I use the throttle axis for the collective, the rudder axis for yaw control and the flight control stick axes for the pitch and roll. If you can't figure it out, maybe I could post my control.con file. That might help. |
