Geforce Vs ATI's
I'm looking at buying a pci-e gfx card but what 1??? i have just recently had a ATI sapphire x1650 512 agp and i was very happy with it, it could play any game you could chuck at it, but word is that Ge force just leave ATI behind in a trail of dust any regards on this. I need some ones personal comment on this matter.
And also whats better AMD 64x2 or Pentium duo dual core? |

Currently, the Geforce 8800 > All else and Intel Core 2 Duo > AMD 64 x2.

my friend has a 8800 GTS 640mb with 1600mhz in mem. It sucks lags on vbf2 alone with only 63 bots. The 7900 xtx beats thats gfx card and the 7900 has only 480 mb and 1400mhz of mem with ddr3 ram

The above is probably the most uninformed statement I've ever seen. My 8800GTS 640mb runs everything I play on 1280x1024 maxed @ 60fps. Unless your "friend" has the starting drivers and a massive cpu and ram bottleneck, that's not possible.

Oh and a gigabyte mother board with cross-fire and has latest drivers... So could it be any of those? |

Can you use some commas and periods please? If that's the case, his drivers must be screwed and/or he has not plugged in the additional power cable.

No thats all done write even halo2 lags so that gfx card isn't that great, i prefer the 7 series to the 8 series. i'll think ill buy the 7900 xtx it's factory over clocked and performs what i need, and a amd 64x2 4000+ should do the trick.

There's no way in hell that a 7900 XTX would ever beat a 8800 640 GTS, unless the first was massively overclocked, and the later was underclocked (if that's possible)
