I use a 6750 @ 3.2, 2 gb ddr2 6400, 8800GTS 320 and never drops below about 80-90 FPS even with 8xAA, 8xAF @ 1680 1050.

I use to be a big ATI fan, in the past I've had a:
ATI Radeon 9200 (which I sold to get the next card) ATI Radeon 9800pro (which still works to this day) ATI Radeon x1950pro (which i have at the moment) The 9200 and 9800pro I was very impressed with both of the cards, but IMO over time ATI has gone rather down hill with mainly there driver and software support. There drivers and software really do suck, large warm hairy balls. The card itself works really well and was a bargen for the price I got it at, but still, the drives really make it suck. My next card will most likely be a nVidia card since I've lost most of my faith now in ATI and even thou I would be paying more for the same power for a nVidia card, I recon its drivers and software that come with it are worth the extra few squid. |

I have a X1900XT atm, but have to play with 1280x800@low settings which seems kinda weird to me.
As soon as i have my Lenovo T61 Laptop, ill get a 8800 GT. Basically, go for 8xxx GPUs and C2D CPUs |

Anyone know which Quad Core Processors are better, AMD or Intel?

I've been running my 8800GTS 640MB for.....Well since around January 2007. And I've never considered getting another card since. Considering it's still the second or third best thing out there behind the 8800GTS512, GTX, and Ultra. But considering it outperformed the GTX on release, lulz. My satisfaction with this card has never been better than any of the cards I've used before it (ti4200, 9800, 7800GT). It was off to a bumpy ride at the beginning until Nvidia got all the drivers sorted out, but now I'm perfectly happy and will be keeping this for a long time to come.

I've recently spent more time and investment into notebook/laptops instead of desktops. Don't get me wrong I still use my PC now and then, but I find laptops more comfortable these days. My last laptop had an AMD Turion 64 x2 Dual Core, 3GB of RAM, and an ATI Radeon X1600. It served me well; I could run PR/PR on high settings just fine, but I over the years I noticed how loud the fans would run while playing games and I'd still feel heat under my palm-rest (this wasn’t a compact machine to assume there wasn’t sufficient cooling). I also noticed the lack of adequate drivers form ATI, for both my laptop and desktop PC. Recently(this week) I bought a new multimedia notebook from ASUS, it comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.5Ghz, 4GB RAM, and a Geforce 9500M GS 512MB (only 9 series available at the moment for notebooks and just a little above a Geforce 8600 GT in performace). It's been awhile since I've gone back to Nvidia and I can't be more pleased. The driver support is awesome and I can actually notice improvements updating to specific drivers. I've tried CoD4, Crysis, and PR/BF2 on this notebook and it still runs nearly cool and silent. Although my opinions are based on mobile components between these two brands, it still shines a light on what to expect from each. In my firsthand experience, price aside Nvidia is a better choice than ATI.

Do you get the same frame-rate independently of which server your on? I see different "flow" in-game dependent of which server I´m on, but that maybe has nothing to do with the FPS?
