OK, here's the deal......

It's 'nilla with knobs on.
  • Enemy nametags are on.
  • Screen crosshair is on.
  • You killed/were killed by so and so is on.
  • Health bar is on.
  • Rounds in mag counter is on.
  • Teamwork most definitely seemed OFF!

Nice to look at; new toys aplenty but......

It's 'nilla. Pure and simple

What's French for "déjà vu"?

Phil Collins doesn't cut it around here

its funny, i was just amused by it. its probably just a bunch of people who thought it would be fun to do a mod. it doesnt really demand you to take it seriously, so i think the extremely arcadey gameplay is permissible. its an important difference between vanilla and n@w, since vanilla claimed to be realistic future warfare...

Hmm, they do have a lot of stuff, but going by those screens shot almost 0% of there content looks crisp. Every single picture had terrible texturing, something you would expect in doom tbh.

dont tell me you where expecting it to be realistic now?

the only mods in BF2 you should expect that from is PR, FH2 and BGF, + maybe 1 or 2 more.

when you play a BF2 mod expect it to be arcadey.

So true firestorm you hit the point the developers were aiming at; a playable tourney mod* that plays like DC and doesn't have the pretensions that vBF2 brought the BF community (god-kid commander spying/death thunder arty etc).
*Longest running 64 player BF2 mod tournament.

First of all let me qualify myself; I play a few mods but since I found PR, PR is "my game" and the PR community/forum is the only one I belong to, I will be supporting PR through the years ahead and right now can't conceive of a game/mod I will be as loyal to in the future.

So having said that, and acknowledging the fact that you jump into a PR game you seriously better be prepared to play with a team on voice and willing and able to take orders and play kits and duties that are asked of you.

The point, for me, of playing mods like N@W, DCon, and EoD, is the pure abandon of that style of playing; spawn quick, come out shooting, play around with selectable weapons/vehicles and toss the headset/mic and lone wolf it some. Besides the fact that you truly get a great kinetic workout (hand to eye coordination) much like practicing baseball with a heavier bat between games or running with weights between track meets.

One final point...for me anyway; Well built arcade games are a stress release. If I had to play with crack military precision every time I got in a video game, man I'd go nuts especially since some PR rounds, it seems herding my squad is like herding ducks, you get one to come round to squad, then another duckling wanders off...heh-heh.
