Well, my dad turned 50 and decided if he didn't try climbing the mountain now he never would, so he took our family there. I never could have afforded it myself. I think for the four of us it ended up costing around $50,000.

You seemed pretty close to that lion in the tree too.
How did Customs feel about your Masai spear ?
Yeah, we were pretty damn close to that lion. Our driver drove our open top jeep directly underneath it for a second. For a while we were parked around ten feet from her horizontally (about 15 feet vertically). So yeah, she could have definitely hopped in if she felt like it.

I'm not sure how Customs would have felt about the spear.

And no, I don't hunt grizzly bears. But I'll bet I could still take one down with this spear.

I've got high resolution versions of all of them, but facebook shrunk it when I uploaded them.

Haha, yeah. But I generally don't like to post full resolution pics of my more artistic shots on public sites.

Super cool pics Ras'mon, thanks for sharing. I bet you're still going through the culture shock ain't ya? Did you spend anytime in Dar es Salaam and by chance or design, get the opportunity to sample the local bangi?

I "ascended" as well as hiked up Mt Bong in Gbarnga (Bong-town) in Bong county Liberia..heh the local ethnic Mandingo dialect is called Bong'om....huh om? The local heads in Monrovia swear Bongs were invented in Bong-town, that's why I was compelled to investigate the scene.

Totally psychedelic sitting on a hill buzzed out seeing Wa'Benzies (the rich) Teeing off at an immaculate golf course while a couple of old people take a crap in the bushes, stroking their beards and watching in rapt attention as the golfers take their swings. There had to be a certain protocol or politeness to it as the shitters didn't arise till after the golfers putted through. I think I'll retire there someday and build a few good strong Bongs for peace.
