That was the US release. It released in the Czech Republic in November 2006, with other countries following after this. The USA release was the very last of like 10 release dates.

Uh, no. Read the last part.

Game2 has been in development forever - just now did they decide to name it Armed Assault 2.

Likewise, it's release date is a few years away.

And yes, ArmA was released in Nov 2006 - Unless the Czech box I've had sitting on my shelf for the past 9 months is just an illusion.

It was released in May, i.e. 2-3 months ago.

This is frying my brain. They used ArmA to get funds to make "Game 2", which is actually ArmA? Time paradox!

How'd you get a Czech formatted game to work on a non-Czech computer?

This looks much cooler, as far as setting and such.
The happy sunshine vacation island of ArmA1 just doesn't do much for me, heh.

Gah.

Game2 is the true sequel to OFP, but cannot be named such as Codemasters owns the rights to that name. So, BI made a semi-sequel called Armed Assault, to update the OFP engine. Game2, (the real OFP2) has been in development for a loooong time, and they have just now decided to name it Armed Assault 2.

As per your second question.. DVD's are universal AFAIK.

I like the DRS (North) side of the island a lot better. Kind of reminds me of the fighting in the Balkans. Unfortunately everybody always plays Evolution, and the fighting rarely gets that far.

Computer games come as DVDs now? I've been living in the CD age for too long....I still don't have a damn MP3 player.

Hopefully they'll have a significantly 'upgraded' A.I. because when you play SP you're more of a babysitter than a member of an elite Spec Ops team...
