One could say that about PR too.

It's taken me a few hours to get a handle of ArmA and I'm mostly confused as to what's going on, but beside that it seems like a really awesome game. I don't know how to talk to anyone yet as the in-game VOIP doesn't appear to function like BF2. I also can't figure out how to join squads and follow directions like we would in BF2.

But still I spawn and kinda do my own thing to understand what's going on around me. It's definitely got a serious learning curve but thus far I'm really happy I bought it.

For PR I play exclusively on Tactical Gamer server as "vanity11"

For ArmA I play exclusively on Tactical Gamer (coop and evo) as "Vanity"

I was playing the demo the other day on capture the flag mode. whilst everyone is sniping with whatever they can get their hands on, I take a hummer around the side and pick the flag up.

On the third go, the hummer got shot up, forcing me to walk back, adrenaline was definitely kicking in.

It's a good game because you can die, just like that!

If you are reading this dont stop, cause if you do, I'll kick you in the balls.

? is your chat key.

Caps Lock is your VoIP key.

Press . (period) and , (comma) to sqitch channels.

All (white) is everybody in the server.
Side (Blue) is people on your team.
Vehicle (Yellow) is people in the same vehicle as you.
Squad (Green) is people in your squad.
Direct (Pink) is people in your immediate vicinity.

You can see the squads at the briefing screen.

ie; 1-1-D, 1-1-E etc etc.

Just picked it up myself. After playing a while with an "unofficial" *cough* version, i realized i needed a real copy to get the patches, play online, and so on.

Look forward to playing with you guys online or maybe coop.

Haha. Except VOIP doesn't work over half the time.

Oh. One cool trick is to double tap caps lock and say "mip mip mip" a lot.

It's not that it's not working, it's just that the server admins turn it off

It's unfortunate they turn it off. TeamSpeak isn't a problem to communicate, but it's more work than is necessary to setup squads and communicate with specific individuals. If the function is built into the game, I don't see a need for a 3rd party product.

ArmA definitely has a learning curve and you'll need 6-8 hours to really understand everything going on. It took me a while but now I'm joining the TG guys on servers, talking via TeamSpeak, and integrating myself into the squads. It's a great game but if you lack patience, it's definitely not for you.
