Criticism? Who said anything about criticism?

I love BF:SF!

Don't you love BF:SF?

Because I really do love BF:SF.

Let's love BF:SF together.

I haven't had a chance to play the game since the patch came out, but after reading what Artnez wrote, I kind of disagree with EA / Dice on this. If you buy the expansion for the game, the extra weapons should be available only on Expansion servers.

Making them available on regular servers places those who don't wish to / can't buy the expansion at a disadvantage, although I think most seasoned players would prefer the normal weapons anyway.

I think that's the point; it virtually forces everyone to buy it. If only they put as much effort into patches as the they do thinking up ways to get more cash off people.

the grappling hook and zip line are still restricted to sf maps only, a regular bf2 person wont ever see either of those. the weapons and flash bangs are around though and do put everyone at a large disadvantage. i was playing normal bf yesterday and happend to pick up whatever the new weapon for the spec ops kit is, that thing can be summarized as a quick fire sniper rifle without the zoom, its murderous! and the flash bangs cause epilepsy! i want to have a fit so i can sue ea...

my problem is right now i'm at 47,000 ish points, once i hit 50 i'll have every unlock, i've noticed that some of the prmm servers still go along with vanilla when it comes to unlocks so i'm struggeling through earing 3 thousand more points to get the snipey, its taken me weeks to just get 2, argh

GotMilk's response sums up my thoughts and the facts about the expansion pack. The grappling hook and zip line are not accessible on the stock BF2 servers, so there is no real advantage as far as that equipment is concerned.

What are available are the weapons (which are balanced to a certain degree) and flashbangs. I don't see an advantage, as I've played plenty of Counter-Strike and survived without buying flashbangs.

But the gripe being expressed in this thread isn't a consistent one. From day one, some players were going to have advantage over others. Those players being the ones who have the time to play BF2 for extended periods of time.

These folks would advance through the ranks faster and unlock other weapons. I didn't have access to those same weapons in my kit selection menu, but I did obtain them by doing the one thing that all the non-SF owners can do: kill an enemy using an unlockable weapon.

I think people who put the time into the game deserve to have access to weapons and other accessories, just as I believe those who purchase the expansion pack should get as much out of that expansion as possible. Fair is fair. And this situation is quite fair. Work pays off... and money should certain pay off.

I like the expansion, even though some of the maps are bland and the weapons make little sense. For instance, the F2000...

And as a side, I wouldn't be too quick to slam EA for their work as a mod development team member. Remember, without them, you wouldn't have a mod to promote

GotMilk, you have 47k worth of points?! Cripes on a cracker! Please tell me your secret for freetime surplus

Damn FN2000 Nade launcher. Got hit by it in an APC. It took half of my armor!!!!!!!

F*CKł

I think i'm not playing vanilla BF anymore until they have fixed that. This "you have to buy it or get pwned" strategy stinks.

The only thing that kept me playing vanilla was squad playing with my clan mates. But with the new guns there is no need for a squad when you have a dozen rambos on one side.

He who fights and runs away can run away another day.

i think you can unlock the SF weapons but it pissis me off when a private first class with a bloddy scar-l come and blasts me when i have work for ages to get a damn G-36c and a PKM when some fool eats me with his gun.

the new weapons also make it seem even more rediculus as i saw an MEC guy wandering around with an F2000 it looked like he'd raided a Star Wars armoury.

I have SF
it's not what you are thinking, I still use the default SF weapon in vanilla bf2
more choice sure.. but no more advantage.
I just wish they had fixed the bunny stuff.
Another sniping class weapon would have been nice, one that actually kills at any distance.
Flashbangs - These were a bad idea to bring to bf2, I have lost count of the jokers that find it funny to drop one on their own team, especialy when i'm piloting a full fatbird.
