From what I have read, there are lots of people having trouble running the game.

run ther directx installer, then install it. shame its a multiplayer beta

so just to retype what i but up there but in more detail unzip all the folders. if your have a directx problem that wount let you install, run the direct x installer thats in the unzipped directx folder and then run the settlers installer, as im guessing it comes with a new version of DX

if that doesnt work try the offical forums

I'm just downloading the torrent, and I'm getting 40 - 50kb/s, which is better than I was getting with Gamespot. I'm hoping this works ok since it looks like alot of people are having problems with it.

By corrupted I mean I couldn't open the .zip file.

If it had been an installer issue I would have simply googled it.

I'll try it again later.

Any specific error message? Have you tried re-checking the file?

Also, if you could make an MD5 hash I'll check if it matches the original file.

Ok, if you want to try the game against no oponents, and not have to do the dumb tutorial, you have to go to multiplayer and start you own server and start it when you are the only one in the server.

If you do lan to do this, then your computer will crash to a blue screen in 2-10 minutes.
