Any good headset recommendations?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836504001
This just came in from newegg today. For 40 dollars, its complete and utter crap. I dont know if its bad quality control because so many reviews are good, or if its a bad headset in general but the mic is terribly quiet, and my ears hurt after 30 minutes of use...I got it mainly for PR and people said they could barely hear me. I had to take off the soft mic cushion just to get them to be ABLE to hear me. And yes I maximized all volume settings for the mic both in game, in windows, and in the sound driver settings. So disappointed -_-' This will be my first online return ever. I don't even know the process I have to go through. What do you guys use? Any recommendations =/ |

SENNHEISER PC151 Is what many of the people in my unit use. No problems and the headphones sound great! I will be ordering some soon.

USB headsets are normally not recommended, unless you do not have a soundcard or onboardsound. I use the speedlink Medusa 5.1 (home edition). Its a real nice piece of equipment and very useful. I used 2 stereo headsets of the cheapest kind before, but once you tried a "real Headset" (especially a 5.1) you will never use anything else. Whats especially good about the home edition is the amp box; you can connect the headset and your normal 5.1 system or your DVD player or the HiFi system, and you don't have to crawl behind the PC to pull the cables anymore! You can switch the output on the ampbox!

Yeah, I made the mistake of getting a USB one once. Couldn't get BF2 to recognize it and lately I hear other ppl in-game complaining about their's not working either.

Sennheiser PC151, or any other known quality brand. Stay out of Chinese junk.

stay away from USB ones. Even cheap ones from the box stores are better.

I have the Zalmsn surround headset. Very decent for gaming. But I hate the mic, it's a clip on, not a boom.
So I just bought some of these today: http://www.trittontechnologies.com/p...s/TRIGA600.htm Haven't tried them but there are some good reviews I have read of them. |
