Since a few days my ingame VOIP has turned mad. When I start playing, everything is perfectly all right, I have TS and VOIP running & perfectly working. So I play for one hour or so, and usually after a round is finished, and I start playing the next (even if its the same map) my VOIP just wont work anymore - the guys in my squad only get static noise. Everything else works as fine as always, TS and the ingamesound is perfect. Since I usually go SL, this really drives me (and my Squadmates) crazy. Its the same for PR and vBF2. Have to check on the other mods, but i think its the same everywhere. It's NOT serversided, since I had the prob on several servers already, and my Squadmates still chat away, while I only send static noise.
My idea was, that the onboard sound of my P5B doesn't like my OCing and gets to hot, but that would affect TS and the ingamesound as well, wouldn't it? Temperature of the Mobo is ok according to Everest (~35°C). Any suggestions (except "buy a new soundcard" - i figured that out myself already Cheers, Ti_GER Niqo |

Generally with onboard sound it is best to go in windows controls for audio and turn your main volume control down a notch, then have wave slider up full.
You could try uninstalling your audiop device in start/controlpanel/system/hardware/device manager and then not letting windows xp auto install the drivers from existing, but downloading and installing the latest drivers for audio from the manufacturers website. |

Thanks mate. I deleted my sounddriver and reinstalled the latest driver (which I already had) freshly downloaded. (Btw. the Asus HP is soooooooooooooooo slow... but since years, dunno why they dont get more mirrors) And I searched a few forums, finding this:
Change the "Front Panel SupportType" to [AC 97] in BIOS/Advanced/Onboarddevice Konfiguration/. I had to reinstall the driver after that, but now I played my usual rounds, and it seems to work, VOIP and TS! Dunno wether it was the bios thing or reinstalling the driver, sure hope it keeps on working! |
