Looks like an awesome movie.

"Simultaneously: 1) a Senator on Capital Hill debates a current crisis in Afghanistan, with the Reporter who made his career ... 2) a Professor teaching Political Science tries his best to convince a good student not to give up his studies, using two former students who passionately enlisted in the Army as an example ... 3) both of which (coincidentally) are currently under fire in Afghanistan -- the very same crisis the Senator and Reporter are debating over"

Any movie with Robert Redford should be a good one.

I do believe Redford is a bit beyond such simplistic opinions.

This was the worst movie I've ever paid money to see. Oh wait. Actually the Blair Witch Project was. But this was #2. And it's also the last movie I saw with this chick before we broke things off, and I'm convinced that a good movie might have made a difference at crunch time.

I actually enjoyed Last Castle, so I figured this would be good. WRONG! It sucked. I've never been so bored in my life. And the bit with the Rangers was retarded also, although I kept finding myself wishing it would go back to it, as it was the least boring of all the movie.

It was funny though, since two of the major issues I'd been having with this girl is

A) The fact that I'm a very intelligent, but very lazy, student. Just like the kid in the movie. She kept poking me at different parts when Robert Redford was lecturing the kid.

B) I've been kicking around the idea of joining the CF and trying to get deployed to Afghanistan. She's very much against that idea, and while I don't want to give away any spoilers, let's just say she poked me a couple times WRT this as well.

Don't see this movie. It sucks.

Yeah i saw it last week. Its very meh. Its to short and none of the parts really develope into anything worth talking about. I think if the movie was an hour longer with more time given to the characters it would have been good.

On another note i saw Hitman today!!(yes i do go to the movies alot) It was actually cool. Just dont go in expecting to much and you will have fun with it.

I havent seen the movie but have heard bad things about it. Things like it was boring and most of the movie was in a room with people just talking. Things like it was anit-war/america and other unpatriotic things. And I heard that in one shot, the American flag is backwards and upside-down. I wont be seeing it.

my new lefty landlord( future sister-in-law) thinks it will just take time until people appreciate it and come to a fuller understanding.

I, on the other hand, bearing in mind the principle of " if you have nothing positive to say, remain silent" have no comment whatsoever of any kind, direct or implied.

TBH, I thought it was quite possibly the best movie I've ever seen. Was very thought-provoking, and wasnt made to be pro or anti-war, just give a lot of different viewpoints. Wasteland, why did you find the part with the Rangers retarded? I thought it was a brilliant movie, well done and very interpretable.

WRT To the anti-patritoism, it gives some very disturbing yet inspirational scenes that further compelled me to join the military, and had some good humor and points from both sides.
